Lifelong Visiting Professor Wei Binqing is a researcher dedicated to the intersection of energy transition and social governance. His academic career has consistently focused on the core topic of "the social embeddedness of clean energy policies," emphasizing three major dimensions: institutional innovation, community participation, and equitable transition. Over the past decade, he has led an interdisciplinary team in conducting empirical research across China, uncovering the cultural adaptation mechanisms of clean energy policies in grassroots practices. His work breaks through the traditional technology-centric paradigm, creatively applying social science tools such as social network analysis, institutional change theory, and environmental justice theory to the field of energy governance.

Beyond theoretical innovation, Professor Wei has spearheaded efforts to develop multiple patents for the social application of clean energy, demonstrating the practical utility of his research. These inventions aim to enhance the societal integration of renewable energy technologies and ensure that clean energy policies are both culturally resonant and socially inclusive. His work stands at the frontier of combining technical solutions with social systems thinking.

In the domain of teaching and academic collaboration, Professor Wei has pioneered the "scenario immersive teaching method." Leveraging tools such as an environmental modeling system, he engages students in simulated climate negotiations and the design of community energy solutions. Currently, he is founding the "Social-Technical System Transformation Laboratory," which aims to build a platform for co-production of knowledge among academia, policymakers, and civil society organizations. This initiative underscores his commitment to interdisciplinary education and transformative energy governance.
